Twilight

Although I wasn’t really in the mood to do this tonight, I now want to.

I’ve recently seen Twilight.

My movie preferences are quite weird, but I do agree to flicks like Fight Club, Gladiator, American beauty and so on being master pieces.

Anyhew… You’re not supposed to like Twilight… It’s a sort of silly flick, if you don’t see behind it… But I really enjoyed it, in spite of its buffiness (and by that I mean it reminded me of Buffy the vampire slayer lol)…

I think the flick’s got some beautiful effects and sights and is very refreshing.

Now I have to say I haven’t read the book, but I did like the movie a lot.

At the beginnin’ I was like… WTH… And wth are they doin’ there? What are those grimaces? No, I mean really… And then I suddenly started enjoying the whole thing.

In my humble opinion, the movie’s like something David Lynch would make, but much more simple. I don’t like David Lynch’ flicks. I only liked Twin Peaks and Mulholland falls.

But Twilight is extremely fresh, in its simplicity. It’s like an incursion into a simple mind. A mind who thinks vampires can be seen in mirrors, which is an opposite to everything we’ve known so far. LOL

Twilight is striking in some ways… My friends didn’t like it. I did. It was soooo, so fresh.

Do you know those ideas you never share or apply? Ideas like… Maybe I should just run the red light? I’d like to run like Forrest Gump. I hate this girl. This lamp looks like a pineapple. This airport terminal is so clean. Maybe I should start walking like Jack Nicholson in “As good as it gets”.

Awkward ideas, coming straight from the creativity side… Just simple.

The more complicated you are, the more complicated the ideas get. And then you get like David Lynch. LOL I won’t go into that. The guy’s a master in his way, I just don’t comprehend.

However this Twilight thing does exactly that… Goes into a simple mind and paints everything it sees. So silly or not, I really liked it. Life goes in silly ways too. And although I wouldn’t place it on my favourites list… It’s very fresh, yet again. Well done!

p.s. I know the best selling book probably has nothing to do with the movie, but then again… There have always been debates on this so… Whatever.

Haha, i’ve heard alot of people that read the book not like the movie because of the way they both were but rather it kind of gives someone a personal bias because of the expectations built up from the book!

But i agree simplying enjoying the movie rather than picking it apart like most people tend to do of movies these days. I always try and make my movie experiences worth while and don’t judge them as much as possible.

You have alot of sweet movie choices in the beginning of your post as well! How do you feel about Vanilla Sky, Big Fish, and the newly released Benjamin Button? :)

:) Funny… The director of Twilight worked as a production designer for Vanilla Sky so I was just thinking about it last night.

I don’t remember Vanilla sky impressing me much, but I haven’t thought bad of it. Big fish I don’t remember – although I do believe I’ve seen it – as for Benjamin Button… I haven’t seen that one yet, was just going to see it tonight. LOL

I’ll probably have more posts on movies, as I used to be a huge movie buff and I’m not very fond of where the movie business went after 2001, although I did see some big improvements this year.
